Johne's Action Group Update

Dick Sibley and Pete Orpin attended the Action Johne's Group at Dairy UK last month. Processors collecting 77% of GB milk supply have signed up to taking their farmers through a process where they assess their Johne's risks of entry and spread, define their status (30 cow targeted screen minimum) and assign one of the 6 control strategies defined by the Action Group.

By 2017 it is likely to be a requirement that BCVA accredited trained vets will be required to approve that their clients have a robust JD program in place.

Practices signing up to Standard membership can use the myhealthyherd program to deliver a complete NJMP for their farmers for all their farmers as part of the membership fee ......read more
